Being an affiliate basically means you have a relationship with a merchant where you promote their product for them in return for commission on any sales. If you refer someone to the merchant and they end up buying the product, you get a cut of it.
You refer them by having a link or banner on a web page and having the user click on the link sends them to the merchant website.
The pay out can vary from 0.5% upwards but by promoting the right products, this can be as high a 50-70%.
