When you start to make money online you can quickly add more articles to your empire by outsourcing the article writing. That is, you can pay for someone else to write unique articles that you own the rights too and can then submit this yourself.

You can often pick up a 500 word article for $3-$10 each and the price you pay will often depend on the size of your order and the quality of the work.

Try to stick to authors that are based in the US, since some foreign languages may not be familiar with localised phrases. I have also had some terrible work when outsourcing to a different country and have had to rewrite it myself – I may as well use PLR for that.

There are many places you can look for an author and it is a good idea to try and build up a rapport with whoever you end up using and make sure they are on the same wave length as you.

Be sure to detail how you want the article to be written and perhaps show them a sample of your work.

You do not have to outsource the work at all if you do not want too – when you get the hang of things, you should be able to research and write a decent article in around 15 minutes, so you can get 5 done in a little over an hour. You may not feel this is needed at all which is fine. If however you are finding too much of a chore or bore then you may want to consider this option.

One other thing to look out for when outsourcing is to make sure the company or author guarantees that your article will be original. They should mention that it will pass copyscape, which is a service to check if there are any other articles too similar.

PLR stands for Private Label Rights.

It is basically a pre-written article, or collection or articles, where the content rights are sold in bulk. The rights also allow the buyer to use the work as their own and make any changes necessary. Some also allow you to resell the work as your own, although this isn’t why you will be using it.

You will often see some PLR packs limited to 200-500 people only, whereas others have no limit.

PLR articles are cheaper than outsourcing your article writing since they are sold in bulk – if you pay an author to write an article for you one of the key benefits is that it will be unique.

PLR can be good, since it saves you the time of writing the article, however, the number 1 rule when using PLR is to make sure you rewrite it. You can almost guarantee that someone has already copy and pasted a PLR article online somewhere, and reusing it will not benefit you at all since the work is not original.

One bad thing about PLR is the work can sometimes be low quality, but this isn’t anything to be concerned about since you are rewriting it anyway. Many articles are thrown together quickly or outsourced to countries where English is not the primary language.

If you decide to use PLR it is often worth emailing the company or seller to see if they have some samples of work you can look at. If they claim they do not, then this may be a sign that they are hiding something, so look for an alternative source instead.

NB – it is against the T&C’s of many article directories, including EZA, to submit PLR.

* CONTENT BEING REVAMPED **

Google alerts can be a good way to keep on building backlinks. Used alone wont get your noticed very quick but with all of the other methods i have mentioned you can send your page to the top of the search engines in no time.

When you setup a google alert, you enter your keywords and google will email you websites that have recently been updated relating to them. This includes blogs and news.

The best thing about this is that no only can you gain backlinks by leaving polite comments on the blog pages, and including a link to your website, but the news can also serve as research for your next article!

In order to setup a google alert go to this address

http://www.google.com/alerts

In the search terms enter your main keywords. I would suggest setting the how often to once a week, but you can do this daily if you have the time for it.

Whenever you get a google alert for your main keyword, if it is a blog, squidoo or other such page that allows comments, take a look at the content and see if you can add value to it with a comment. It you can then consider leaving an on topic message with a link to your website using your main keywords as the anchor text. If you can’t leave a good comment, wait until the next alert arrives and try again.

You can also setup alerts for your secondary keywords and do the same, but your priority should be to focus on your main keyword to start off with.

Social bookmarking is a quick and easy way to create extra backlinks to your site. By using these links you can force your articles into the first page and even the number 1 spot in google and other search engines.

If you have the budget, or once you start making money, I would recommend you invest in Bookmarking Demon. This software can automatically submit your pages to a whole load of social bookmark sites and it is a lot quicker than doing it manually. It can even create accounts for you. For now though, create an account on each of the following.

http://www.current.com

http://www.mixx.com

http://www.digg.com

http://www.reddit.com

http://del.icio.us

http://www.propeller.com

http://www.stumbleupon.com

http://www.mybloglog.com

http://www.slashdot.org

http://www.mister-wong.com

To add your site or article, you will need to login to each site first and then look for the ‘add site’ or ‘submit new’ section. In there you can simply paste your link and then submit it.

There are many more social bookmarking sites that you can use. If you want to expand your reach further, you can signup to any of the following sites found here.

Social Bookmarking sites on wikipedia

Social Bookmarking sites on mashable

Every day, login to each of the social bookmarking sites and submit at least 1 of your articles. Be sure also to submit your presell webpage first since this is the most important. You can do more than one per day, however, you need to make sure you do not spam these sites with tons of links in one go, as you will be banned from using them, You should not submit more than 5-8 in one day as a general rule of thumb.

You might want to consider creating 2 or more accounts on each and alternating the account you use to submit your sites to decrease the risk of having your account banned for spamming. Again, if this sounds like a lot of work, you can do it almost automatically by using Bookmarking Demon.

You should also sign up to some of the forums that you researched earlier. Before you post, many forums allow you to enter a signature that is appended to any posts you make.

You should change yours so that it links to your website with your main keywords as the anchor text and also consider linking to one of your articles too, with the secondary keyword as its anchor text. Leave a reply to some of the forum posts asking for help – you do not need to link to your website in the post itself since your sig will have all the details in it.

Most forums will have controls that let you create your own backlinks, so be sure to use these. There is another type of code, bbcode, that many use to create links and it is somewhat different to the href html links you were shown earlier. If in doubt, check the forum FAQs.

Once again, do not spam the forums. Try to become a valued member of the community – answer other peoples questions, post your own, and start getting involved in the debates. If the forum permits it, and it would be on topic, you can also answer a question with a link to an article you have written.

Commenting on blogs can be very effective for building backlinks as long as you do it right.

It is also important to not spam these pages – try to leave a respectful and on-topic comment about the page itself and leave a single link to your website at the end. There are several ways you can find pages to link to your website from. Google is a great tool for this. Websites that end in .gov and .edu can add great value to your backlink campaigns so be on the lookout for these especially.

You can use the following searches to find potential sites to link from, simply enter the following into google:

site:.edu inurl:blog “comment” -”posting closed” -”comment closed” -”you must be logged in” “main keyword”

site:.gov inurl:blog “comment” -”posting closed” -”comment closed” -”you must be logged in” “main keyword”

main keywords “blog comments powered by Disqus”

It is usually a good idea to leave comments on blogs that are related to your niche only. If the post has loads of comments already, you can also try to engage in conversation if you have a different opinion to one that has already been left. Other bloggers will be happy to accept your comment as long as you give them some value too.

After you have some articles approved by EZA, submit your author feed to some RSS directories, which will help to gain exposure for any that you write from now on.

RSS is a collection of frequently updated works, such as blog posts, news headlines and in our case, articles. Since you will be updating your published articles on EZA a lot of the time, you will be missing out if you do not post your RSS feed link onto some of the many RSS directories available.

Many people do not do this and they are missing out on a quick way to boost all of your article search engine rankings and of course the chance of visitors finding those articles.

To get your author RSS feed, you must have live articles in your EZA account. You can use the following URL – replace your name at the end, using an underscore instead of s space. To get an underscore you usually need to hold down the shift key and press dash. Since keyboard layouts can be different however, look for the horizontal line at the bottom. ( _ )

An example of what your author bio link URL is the following:

http://ezinearticles.com/?expert_bio=Your_Author

If you have live articles, you can view your profile from the EZA control panel. Click on the view profile link and you can see the URL there. This will only work when you have live articles however.

At your author profile page, you need to click on the RSS icon, and then the XML button that appears. Copy the URL you are taken to and paste it into notepad. This is highlighted in the image below. If you aren’t familiar with the RSS icon it is usually the rounded square with 3 curves in it.

The URL you now have should be submitted to as many RSS directories as you can find. You only need to do this one time since RSS is designed for frequently updated feeds, so get this done as soon as you have live articles published.

It can be quite time consuming to do this and the amount of time will depend on how many RSS directories you submit your feed too but its well worth it, and as you only have to do this step once you can forget about it once you have done it. You should start with the following feed directories, but feel free to find your own too. You don’t need to sign up to a lot of these sites either.

http://grazr.com

http://feedagg.com

http://feedage.com

http://rssfeeds.com

http://rssmicro.com

http://feedbase.net

http://feedfury.com

http://findrss.net

http://millionrss.com

http://publisher.yahoo.com/rss_guide/submit.php

If you want to find other RSS sites, you can always use google and search for “RSS directory” or “free RSS directory” and take a look at some of the results that come back. You should also take a moment to submit the RSS feed of your website. For wordpress, the URL will be http://www.yourwebsite.com/rss

Backlinks are an important part of gaining exposure for any website. These are used by the search engines to find out what words link to a page, how many links there are and what sites are linking to another. All together this is part of how high a site ranks in the search engine pages.

If you write good, compelling articles then people will link to you and you do not have to lift a finger. This may take some time though but there are ways of making this a lot quicker.

One of the benefits of using article directories is that other people can use your articles. Essentially, you are giving them permission to copy the article from the directory it is on, as long as they keep your author bio in tact. This means that your presell page and the primary articles will both get backlinks in the long term.

In the short term, you can create backlinks yourself by commenting on blogs, posting on forums, using social bookmarking websites and some others which I will explain in the next few articles. All of these are free but it is important that you do not spam any of them. Commenting on blogs is very spammy so you should take your time to create a good reply and not just put “thanks for this” just to get a backlink.

No-one likes spam and if the comment is moderated, most bloggers won’t allow spam comments either.

The idea here is to gain more exposure of your articles so the more you have online, the more chance there is that someone will find your site, but also to use the author bio sections within these articles to promote your EZA article and presell page.

Sign up to the following sites to do this.

http://www.goarticles.com

http://www.articledashboard.com

http://www.searchwarp.com

http://www.articlesbase.com

http://www.selfgrowth.com

http://www.articlecity.com

http://www.buzzle.com

http://blogtalkradio.com

http://www.isnare.com

http://www.articlealley.com

Submit each article that was approved to these directories but before you submit them give them a different title from the original keeping the original secondary keywords. You will also need to change your author bio box so you have one link to your presell page with the anchor text as your main keyword, and another to the original EZA article for the secondary keyword the article was written for.

For example, my website was built with the main keyword acne laser treatment. If I wrote an article on adult acne treatments I would create my author bio like this:

Have you ever through of having acne laser treatment? It is available to almost anyone and can really help clear up your skin. There are also plenty of other adult acne treatements available, check my website for full details as soon as possible.

There are plenty of other article directories out there which have free signups so feel free to extend your reach further by signing up to as many as you like and do the same with each of your articles.
