This part of scares many people off. However, you do not need to be a website guru in order to do this. In fact, you don’t even need to know HTML, databases, php or perl – indeed, you can build a website with a few clicks.
I only recommend that you try to host your own website. This is because you have full control over it and it does look more professional. You can use wordpress to build the website which is a free blogging platform and enables you to quickly build websites.
Also – in many cases, websites have been closed where people have had some success after using them on free platforms – why put in all this effort if someone else can put an end to it. Please review this post for more information.
If you want to have your own website you will need to register a domain name. I highly recommend you try and register a .com domain for this. However, .net and .org can work just as well. I wouldnt suggest trying to get another other type of website address, unless you want to target a single country (.co.uk for example).
Some people have varying success with .info domains but I would recommend staying clear of them and using .com, .net or .org in that order of preference. I have had high ranking .info domains, but never any such success than I get using the other 3.
There has an unproven theory that they are devalued because of the number of spam sites, but I do not believe this is the case. Any domain name can be great, but the above 3 are the most recognised so please try to stick to them.
Try to register your domain as your main keywords. For example, if I was going to use acne laser treatment, I would try to register acnelasertreatment.com first. If this was taken then i would try .net and then org.
If all are taken, then try putting a ‘-’ between each word, e.g acne-laser-treatment.com. If you are still having problems finding a domain name, add a small word at the beginning or end of the main keyword if it makes sense too.
For example, myacnelasertreatment.com or acnelasertreatmenthq.com
The following website will check them for you instantly as you type so it is a lot easier than checking through a domain registrar company for each one you have.
This will definitely save you some time and it is free to use, so bookmark it.

Once you have found a domain name, register it as you will be using this for your website. If you are unsure where you should register your domain, please check the next section first, as some web hosting companies will also take care of the registration for you as part of their services. This can work out cheaper in the long run.
