Through writing a series of articles based on information that people are looking for, you can direct them to your website with the sole purpose of referring them to an affiliate website.
For every person you refer to this external site that buys a product, you will get a cut of the sale. This is known as affiliate marketing and the business model above take on article marketing.
Some “guru’s” say that you should refer the visitor straight from the article to the affiliate website but I disagree with this.
The reason for this is because some article directories do not allow you to do this, which limits your exposure.
Also, if you have your own website you can also get visitors straight from the search engine which gives you more chance of referring someone.
